The Beauty She Dreams By
Chimamanda Udodi
The story, The Beauty She Dreams, centers around a young girl named Amara who faces complex identity struggles wherein she does not feel confident in her own skin. After she is gifted a Barbie doll, Amara is able to live through the doll and envision a world where she feels beautiful. However, she is quickly brought back to reality with a sudden tragedy that cuts short that fantasizing world. Amara then ventures into a captivating journey of self-discovery, transformation, and self-acceptance.
